Got Text Books?

James Patterson, the best selling author, is helping High School Seniors get money for college text books. If you are interested, or know a college bound student who would like to apply head on over to the official James Patterson website. 

High school students can enter an essay contest: “How has your favorite book inspired you toward what you’d like to do in life?” There will be fifty-six students chosen with the prizes ranging from $250 to $5,000. James Patterson and select members from his ReadKiddoRead.com staff will choose "the most creative thoughts on how books can energize real-life pursuits". The deadline to apply is December 31, 2010 and the winners will be announced nationally on February 1, 2011. Good luck! Let us know if you apply, we'll be rooting for you!

 

"Juliet"

On September 23 at 7 p.m. Anne Fortier, author of the recently published novel "Juliet" will be taking part in Stanislaus County Library Foundation's Author Spotlight.  The event will be held at the Salida Library!  Don't miss this opportunity!

Dinner Theater

 Dinner Theater will be offered on September 29, 2010.  Ages 6 and older.  Sign-ups are required and will begin September 15 .

All Kids Craft Fair - ages 7 - 14

Applications for the 2010 All Kids Craft Fair will be available between September 1 and September 30. Children who participated last year will be mailed an application, and Branch Libraries will be sent some applications for their customers who wish to participate in this Modesto Library event. The All Kids Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, October 9, on the Modesto Library portico, from 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon. It features handicrafts made and sold be children ages 7 - 14.
