It sure is wet and windy out there! The Empire Library and Riverbank Library have been closed today due to power outages.

Read for the Record

Break the world record with us!

On October 8, 2009, Stanislaus County Libraries will be participating in Read for the Record, an international campaign to bring children together with valued grownups in their lives to read the same book, on the same day, in communities all over the world.

Visit the library to hear The Very Hungry Caterpillar read by librarians, elected officials, police officers and more! Reading times will be posted at libraries and on our website.

Mo Willems, author of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and Knuffle Bunny will be giving a tour of his studio via live simulcast to the Modesto Library. We were one of only 200 library & school venues to be chosen to participate in this unique experience. For more information call 558-7810.
