There are lots of great events and programming this week at libraries around the county.
* The Food for Thought children's reading program continues through April 18. Sign up at your local library.
* Turlock Library's Great Hat Hunt continues through March 31. Children can search for the hat in the library and get a treat.
Tuesday, March 17:
10 a.m., Denair - Friends of the Library meeting. Make a difference at your library. All are welcome.
11:30 a.m., Modesto - Learn Beginning Internet skills. Advance Registration is required. Please call 558-7814 to sign up.
2 p.m., Denair - Children have the opportunity to make a butterfly craft. Crafts teach basic art skills while highlighting library craft books that are available to check out.
Wednesday, March 18:
5:30 p.m., Patterson- Teens can come participate in Patterson Library's Teen Game Night. Teens will have the opportunity to play board games, the popular Nintendo Wii, and enjoy pizza. Gaming programs promote hand-eye coordination, memory, and gives teens the opportunity to interact with one another. Teen books will also be on display and available to check out.

Friday, March 20:
11 a.m., Riverbank- Attend a special preschool program where children will have the opportunity to learn about the problem of littering, how to recycle, and how to take care of the environment. This will be right after StoryTime.
Saturday, March 21:
11 a.m., Turlock- Magician Danny Crandell will amaze and delight with his magic show. Through this program children will develop social skills through audience participation and learn about library resources.
12:30 p.m., Turlock- Catch a second performance of Magician Danny Crandell who will amaze and delight with his magic show. Through this program children will develop social skills through audience participation and learn about library resources.
2 p.m., Modesto- Carin Cozzi from the Valley First Credit Union will present a program on solving the mystery of credit. Become aware of what these financial things mean. Credit reports and credit scores, as well as the rights and responsibilities that accompany them, are a concern to many consumers. This program provides an overview of credit bureaus, credit scoring and the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as specific guidance on disputing inaccuracies, improving the credit score, and dealing with identity theft and fraud.
